The Infinix S4 is finally here in Kenya priced from Ksh14,999, here is what you need to know before buying

In an event hosted at Nairobi’s Serena hotel dubbed “Empower the Infinity in You”, we finally got to see how the latest addition to infinix smartphone lineup will look like. And from what we’ve been able to gather so far, it’ll impress some and at the same time disappoint many. We have therefore taken a notch higher to highlight some of the good stuff and not so good stuff you need to consider before deciding to put the latest Infinix S4 in your pocket or purse for the foreseeable future. There are several factors consumers look for when buying a new smartphone depending on what exactly they intent to use it for and we expect the Infinix S4 not to be an exception.

There’s a lot of fuss we’ve already seen from the marketing materials about the latest addition to infinix lineup, some pretty convincing but not enough to sway our opinion at first sight. Notably, the Infinix S4’s 32megapixels selfie camera stands out amongst many technologies’ underneath, but we’ve seen other smartphones who’ve gone a notch higher in the same arena. It’s one area that’s likely to excite many selfie lovers, but it’s just as important to note, not everyone is in the business of taking selfies. Some of us look for a device with the most vivid display, longer lasting battery and great performance as opposed to best camera. In short, what I mean is, not everything is going for the Infinix S4, but it has other factors in it favor that some will be pleased to have such as an affordable price tag.

Let’s take a look at the highs and lows of the Infinix S4;

Infinix S4 Display Panel

We love the fact that not withstanding a manageable price tag, the company implemented a water-drop 6.2 inches HD+ display panel with very slim bezels making it appear compact regardless of a large screen profile. Water-drop, tear-drop, notch, punch-hole has definitely become a common norm amongst smartphone devices so it was definitely expected on the Infinix S4. The display panel is mostly usable for those who have a tight budget, but if you what things to pop-out or blow your mind, then it’s best if you looked somewhere else especially within the AMOLED family devices.

Infinix S4 Rear Cameras Setup and front facing Selfie shooter

A lot of the time, we mistake to judge how good a device can take photos by how many megapixels it has. While in reality, there’s lots of stuff happening in the background that ultimately make that photo to pop. Recently, we got a taste of Oppo F11 Pro’s incredible 48MP+5MP Dual Rear Camera Setup, it’s impressive no doubt about it, but the iPhone XS with it’s 12megapixels rear shooter still manages to take overall better photos as well as video clips. The rear panel houses a combination of 3 camera setup; 13MP+8MP+2MP, which works hand in hand to produce the final image. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera that will take those selfie shots with more details. There are some nice touches within the OS utilizing artificial intelligence to allow users add touches on their photos.

Infinix S4 Performance, internal storage and Design

The Infinix S4 will be offered with two variants, one with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage at a retail price of Sh14,999 while the 6GB and 64GB internal storage variant will cost Sh18,999. The S4 is available in a variety of colors including Milan Black, Blue and Purple.
