Safaricom has finally unveiled it’s much anticipated set top box that will compete with Zuku by offering Digital TV and Data via 4G connection. Dubbed as the “theBIGbox”, users will enjoy internet connection speeds of up to 3G/4G for covered areas, create a wireless hotspot that can be utilized by different data enabled devices, free youtube streaming for the first 3months, 30 plus free to air channels, TV recording capabilities and USB media playback. The “theBIGbox” which can be purchased from any safaricom outlet, utilizes the normal outdoor antennae just like GoTV and StarTimes.
