Airtel’s ‘Tuma Data’ Service Lets Subscribers Share Internet Bundles

Ever since Safaricom unveiled Sambaza Internet – a service that allows subscribers to transfer part of their data bundles to other phone numbers, it didn’t come as a surprise to see Airtel Kenya follow suite with a similar service dubbed ‘Tuma Data’. Tuma Data essentially allows subscribers on Airtel’s network to transfer data bundles from their devices to friends and family members within the same network. With enough bundles, subscribers can choose to download files, surf the internet as well as check their emails. Tuma Data charges are billed on the person sharing bundles allowing those without enough credit to access internet courtesy of their friends.

How to Use Tuma Data Service

Airtel’s prepaid customers can use this service as long as they have enough airtime. (USSD)

  • From your Airtel line, Dial *544#
  • Select ‘Buy internet ‘ from the available options
  • Choose ‘For another number’ (phone number you intent to share data with)
  • Enter recipient’s phone number
  • From the list, select your preferred bundle

For Postpaid Customers (USSD),

  • From your Airtel line, Dial *450#
  • Select ‘Buy internet ‘ from the available options
  • Choose ‘For another number’ (phone number you intent to share data with)
  • Enter recipient’s phone number
  • From the list, select your preferred bundle

  12. I want to transfer already bought bundles, I don’t see anything like share bundles when I dial *544#, I don’t want to use credit to buy bundles for another number but transfer my bundles.

  13. I am not surprised that you are giving free sim cards and yet your services are not impressing. Will you bit safaricom, really??Please up your systems men!!

And thanks alot For te service u have u offer ubon us, it is actully FABULOUS when it comes to bundles either sms/call rate ,it is actually encouraging ,it is different from other service purely, bt everything has its merits and demerits, unlike other services ,ARITEL need ONKY to look into network service, tis is where many are afta,
CONGRATULATION AIRTEL ..FROM CELTEL TO ZAIN TO AIRTEL,mmmwaaah

  15. Pls. be transparent for the sake of good customer relation. We mean transfer of data from the unliminnet subscription.

  16. Airtel YOU ARE CHEATING customers. Yours IS NOT SAMBAZA. For this reason that you can’t be trusted even to manage customer data correctly. YOU WILL LOOSE CUSTOMERS starting with me UNLESS TUMA DATA is changed to facilitate sharing of the data already stcked.

  17. We wanted to know how to share data bundles from airtel to airtel. What you described in buying data bundles for another one and not sharing.
