Zuku TV Channels on the African Basic Package

Zuku pay TV service provider has over years evolved into a major force threatening the survival of an all weather Dstv which has seen new players such as GTV emerge and fade away leaving it to enjoy a circumstantial but lucrative monopoly. The main selling point for Zuku TV is perceived to be its support for multiple platforms ranging from cable TV to satellite TV each with its pros and cons compared to Dstv which has for decades embraced satellite transmission with minimal efforts to exploring other platforms. The success and impressive growth experienced by Zuku TV has however prompted the region’s dominant pay TV service provider (Dstv) to consider exploring other platforms as witnessed from its latest product, GOtv operating on Digital Terestrial Transmission (DTT) otherwise known as Digital platform; other service providers operating on a similar platform in Kenya include Smart TV.

On its part, Dstv has been very aggressive on its marketing strategy; it’s the only service provider with more packages for subscribers to choose from, its products have been divided into different packages designed to suite various classes of consumer income. The packages are priced differently with the most channel populated Dstv Premium package attracting the highest price tag compared to Dstv compact and Dstv Family. Zuku TV on its part has an African basic package with more channels than any Dstv packages and Gotv package costing slightly less than Kshs.1000. Smart TV’s misfortunes have rendered the service provider directionless even previously subscribed customers have lamented and regretted the quality of services received. The cheapest pay TV deal so far in the country is GOtv.
