Lenovo IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook Notebook

Ultrabooks are increasingly becoming popular in the computing world due to their design nature featuring a thin and light body. Latest addition to ultrabook type of laptops is Lenovo IdeaPad U300s with a 13.3 inch display panel. In order for a laptop to feature in the Ultrabooks genre, it must measure less than 0.8 inches thick with a solid state hard disk and a long lasting battery life. Ultrabooks have no significant performance difference to normal laptops apart from design features; the genre was established after Intel insisted on a distinct Ultrabook laptop platform for manufacturers to use including their relatively low price, less than $1000. Just like other Ultrabooks on the market, Lenovo IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook seeks to neutralize Apples grip on the market segment considering its popular Apple MacBook product.

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook joins Acer Aspire 3951 and Toshiba Portege Z830 to become the first devices meeting Ultrabook description in a fast becoming competitive market segment; they both have a 13.3 inch display panel and are powered by either Intel core i5-2457M or i7-2677M processor. Lenovo IdeaPad U300s notebook measures 12.8×8.5×0.6 inches and weighs only 2.9 pounds falling comfortably in the Ultrabook category of notebooks, in addition, users will enjoy 8 hours long battery life of run time and up to 30days of stand by time. The notebook shell is curved from aluminum and is available in grey or orange with scratch resistant coats; however, the touch pad and keyboard are black in color featuring Intel’s Breathable keyboard to eliminate need for ventilation at the bottom. Lenovo IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook features the manufacturer’s RapidCharge technology that allows users to charge its battery from 0 percent to 50 percent in only 30 minutes.
Lenovo also indicates the IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook can boot in as little as 10 seconds. It also features Intel GMA HD 3000 graphics and up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, in addition, consumers will have an option of Lenovo IdeaPad U300s featuring up to 256GB hard drive capacity. Other standard features such as HDMI output, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, mic and headphone jack are also included. There are two USB ports one with 2.0 USB technology and the other 3.0 USB technology; 3.0 USB technology is more than ten times faster than 2.0. You’ll also get a 1.3-Megapixel webcam to cater for your video chatting needs.
