Gateway TP Series A60 Android Tablet

Gateway has finally started retailing its new TP Series A60 Android Tablet in Canada at future shop going for $399; immediately after the tablet was introduced, unavoidable resemblance to Acer’s Iconia Tab A500 was noticed with few tweaks implemented to identify Gateway TP Series A60 distinct from Acer’s tab. We’ve all been expecting this development from Gateway considering the unanticipated popularity Android tablets are gaining by day; however, it’s yet known whether Gateway TP Series A60 tablet’s entrance to the market segment had been planned or it was a mere tweak of the Acer’s product with an aim to ensure Gateway’s presence in the market. On the brighter side however, the new Gateway TP Series A60 tablet comes with a 1GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM and a free 16GB MicroSD card with few extra additions to separate its performance level from the Iconia tab.

Gateway TP Series A60 tablet has a 10.1 inch (1280×800 pixels) touch display panel and onboard nVIDIA GeForce graphics card; in addition, the device is powered by Android v3.0 Honeycomb operating system. Comparing Gateway TP Series A60 with other tablets in its genre, it stands a better chance to have a significant presence and a reasonable market share in an already flooded Android market due to more improved features and specifications. It has a 5.0-Megapixel rear camera equipped with autofocus and flash, on top of that, users will also enjoy a 2.0-Megapixel front facing camera to cater for video chatting needs. Consumers need to understand the relationship existing between Acer and Gateway; actually, the later is a California based subsidiary of Acer Inc. meaning you’ll actually be purchasing Iconia’s sibling just in case you acquire the Gateway TP Series A60 tablet.
Additional features on Gateway TP Series A60 tab include WiFi 820.11b/g/n, two USB Ports and 16GB internal storage capacity which can also be increased using an external MicroSD card. On top of the above features, the TP series A60 tab is equipped with DLNA technology allowing seamless sharing of content with other DLNA compatible devices. It measures 26×17.7×1.3 centimeters and weighs only 765 grams making it light and more portable.
