OPPO Unveils the Reno8 T Series with 108MP Camera and 5G Connectivity in Kenya

The OPPO Reno8 T 5G version boasts a slightly curved OLED screen of 6.7 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a 56-degree curve, and a 1.9mm arc and offers AI-powered adaptive eye protection with a peak brightness of 950 nits. The 4G version comes with a fiberglass-leather design, while the 5G version has a plastic back. The Reno8 T 5G version comes in two colors, Sunrise Gold and Midnight Black, while the Reno8 T 4G version comes in Sunset Orange and Midnight Black.

The phone weighs 171 grams and is 7.7mm thick, giving it a slim and light design. The curved screen was tested for durability and reliability through various tests, including multiple drop tests, deformation tests, strike tests, and extreme environment tests. The Reno8 T 4G version has a leather stitching pattern at the sides, providing a premium look and feel.

Both versions come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage and run on Android 13 and ColorOS 13 out of the box. The Reno8 T 5G version is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset, while the Reno8 T 4G version has a Helio G99 processor. ColorOS 13 also comes with the RAM Expansion feature, which allows users to expand available RAM up to 8GB of virtual RAM.

Both versions come with a 32MP selfie camera, while the Reno8 T 5G version has a 108MP triple camera setup, and the Reno8 T 4G version has a 100MP main lens with a 2MP micro and a 2MP monochrome lens. The microscope light’s orbit light can be personalized with the user’s preferred color for notifications.

Battery

With its 4800mAh battery, the Reno8 T 5G model is equipped with 67W fast-wired charging capability. In contrast, the Reno8 T 4G version boasts a larger 5000mAh battery that supports 33W charging. Thanks to the 67W fast charging feature, the Reno8 T 5G can go from zero to a full charge in a mere 44 minutes.

According to Fredrique Achieng, the Public Relations Manager of OPPO Kenya, the launch of the Reno8 T series highlights the company’s commitment to leveraging the advantages of technology to enhance the user experience. Achieng expressed excitement over the first 108MP camera and the high-quality 120Hz 3D curved screen and is looking forward to seeing how consumers will engage with the device.

Oppo Kenya Brand Ambassadors

After the announcement was made, OPPO introduced its brand ambassadors for the Reno 8T series, which included popular Kenyan artists Willy Paul, Nadia Mukami, and Nameless. The brand ambassadors performed a song highlighting the features of the Reno8 T series.

Price and Availability in Kenya

The Reno8T 5G version is priced at Ksh 49,999, while the Reno8 T 4G version is priced at Ksh 37,999. Customers can pre-order the phones from February 17th to February 28th across all official OPPO retail stores and eCommerce partners like Kilimall, and the phones will be available for sale on March 1st.
