Tecno unveils Camon 16 Premier with a 90Hz FHD+ display screen and 64MP quad camera setup

Tecno has introduced its best device yet during an online launch event that touted the company’s pioneering innovation on camera and development in AIoT. The company through Deputy General Manager Ryan said the launch was its most important event in the second half of the year. Tecno brand has performed exceptionally well in emerging markets such as Kenya and the Deputy General manager didn’t hesitate to single out its top 10 spot in ranking.

Ryan further acknowledged the efforts Tecno had made to stand out in camera quality which features several elements and proceeded to reveal the company’s top-class imaging laboratory – TAIVOS lab behind the technology. According to Ryan, their research and development had perfected in intelligent deep and light skin color imaging. Based on years of research, Tecno had developed a sophisticated algorithm in dark skin color imaging.

While introducing the Camon 16 Premier, Tecno product director Andy intimidated on the achievements made by their camera phone which had so far received acknowledgement from international bodies such as CVPR LIP and IFA Product innovation award.

Camon 16 packs a 6.9 FHD+ panel with 90Hz refresh rate that most users will find exquisite. The front panel is flagged by dual selfie cameras. The design has further been refined with an ergonomic 98.5 radius design that fits well in your palm providing a great grip according to the product director Andy.

The rear panel houses a 64MP quad camera setup and is equipped with a whooping 5 LED flashes. The selfie cameras are however complemented by two LED flashes bringing the total number of LED’s to seven. And to control the eventual effect on photos, Tecno has allowed their brightness to be adjusted accordingly which kind of makes it realistic taking photos in various lighting conditions.

The phone’s photography features also include an eye tracking technology that enables the device to track subjects even in motion or facing on their sides. Under the hood is a mediaTek Helio G90T processor, Cortex – A76 CPU and Mali G76 GPU.

Some models will pack a 5000mAh battery while others 4500mAh battery with a 33w fast charger that is equipped with a thermo tube cooling function for safe use. The 33w charger should fill up 70 percent capacity in half an hour or 30 minutes whichever that sounds lowest. Camon 16 will max out at 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage
