After making several appearances in blurry leaked images, LG Univa E510 (Optimus Hub) mid range smart phone has finally been unveiled; the newcomer was announced in Italy replacing its popular sibling Optimus One. As anticipated, the new LG Univa E510 comes with improved features and specifications compared to its predecessor Optimus One while maintaining its reasonable price tag. The introduction of LG Univa E510 is aimed at maintaining the manufacturer’s presence on the lucrative but competitive Android market segment considering the aggressive approach adopted by major industry players such as Samsung; Samsung has lately been unveiling different Android devices targeting various consumer brackets. Looking at a different angle though, the introduction of Univa E510 Optimus Hub is timely and wise considering the popularity its sibling has so far been enjoying, LG has maintained its design, pricing and improved on performance.
LG Univa E510 (Optimus Hub) Android Smart Phone
Unlike its predecessor Optimus One which is powered by a 600MHz ARM Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, LG Univa E510 prides of an improved 800MHz processor speed. In addition, the Optimus Hub comes with a slightly bigger 3.5 inch HVGA LCD screen (0.3 inch bigger to be precise) compared to Optimus One’s 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen. On top of the above improvements, LG Univa E510 runs on Android v2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system which is a more recent upgrade of v2.3 Gingerbread and superior to both Android v2.2 Froyo and v2.3 Gingerbread available for Optimus One. We all appreciate OS upgrades as newer versions always come with flourished features and functionality as well as addressing weaknesses experienced on its predecessor; its therefore sufficient to indicate the Optimus Hub’s OS has additional features and improved functionality compared to its predecessor sibling.
There is however a little limitation associated to its modest processor; LG Univa E510 has an ARMv6 core processor meaning the device will not be able to run ARMv7 applications such as Fire Fox for Android, Adobe Flash Player among others. The Optimus Hub has a 5.0-Megapixel camera commonly associated with mid range devices in its genre. Additional features include; WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi direct and GPS, you’ll also enjoy fast 3G internet connection speed up to 3.6Mbps on HSDPA. After LG Univa E510 becomes available in electronic stores, consumers are anticipated to dumb Optimus One for the later. There is however unusual resemblance between this device and Motorola XT531.
