Samsung Wave Y S5380 Bada Smart Phone

Among all three Bada v2.0 (Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y) smart phones, Samsung Wave Y S5380 is the cheapest with limited features and has been classified accordingly in an entry level Y genre; recently, Samsung decided to name its devices according to capabilities in an effort to create awareness of what consumers should expect from their products. The release of Samsung Wave Y S5380 is expected to spur a significant twist in the telephony industry considering a full featured Bada 2.0 operating system that comes on board; Bada 2.0 is the latest Samsung’s platform for smart phone devices featuring various capabilities including; voice recognition, Near Field Communication, Multitasking and WiFi direct, it is anticipated to be a major selling factor for Samsung Wave Y S5380 smart phone.

Although Samsung Wave Y S5380 is considered as ‘Young’ according to the manufacturer, it has a unique stylish metallic hairline body of which could only be expected from its advanced siblings. It also takes advantage of Samsungs proprietary ChatON application to allow friends and family members to stay connected always; ChatON works across major platforms such as Blackberry devices, devices running on iOS, Android and Bada operating system to allow users share content and group chat as well as establishing conversations between mobiles phones and personal computers. Samsung Wave Y S5380 has a 3.2 inch HVGA, TFT, LCD display panel (320×480 pixels) and a modest 832MHz processor; the screen size is 0.45 inch less than that of its sibling Wave M but with similar processor power. It should however be noted that Wave M has a larger 5.0-megapixel camera compared to 2.0-megapixel of Samsung Wave Y S5380.
According to the manufacturer, Samsung Wave Y S5380 targets those consumers who are having their initial footsteps in the smart phone universe; however, Wave Y boasts of having full support for the social networking applications courtesy of Samsung’s Social Hub and ChatON. Additional capabilities to Samsung’s Bada software will be a major driving force for the success of Samsung Wave Y S5380 considering an already over flooded Android smart phone market, other industry players such as Nokia, are expected to offer variant products featuring Windows Phone Mango and Symbian Belle OS.
