Epson to Recruit More Resellers as it Expands Product Distribution Network

Epson is relentlessly seeking to increase its presence in the East African region by recruiting more resellers to its product distribution network. In an effort that will bring its products and services closer to customers, the company is adding more resellers as well as investing more in marketing support – a concept that’s expected to enhance user experience and drive growth in strategic sectors such as e-banking, retail, education and the government sectors. The company’s regional sales manager Mukesh Bector said, Epson was committed to developing new business opportunities and growth through close working relationships with channel partners.

‘As a company, we’re keen to not only strengthen our product distribution network in the region but also offer superior after sales service to our customers’, he added. In view of the current market trends, Epson had identified business products as a potential segment for growth.  Recruiting more resellers is just but a step to increase the company’s market share grip which’s expected to be complemented by developing ground breaking innovative products at affordable prices for all segments.

Epson is banking on its latest inkjet printers as a viable alternative to traditional laser printers to drive its sales this year. On the other hand, the company’s latest innovative label works printers now have an extended warranty from Epson – a customer buying the label works printers from now till March 2014 will be entitled to a three-year warranty. The label makers are designed to address both desktop and mobile labeling needs, the range includes LabelWokrks LW-300 printers which are suitable for office labeling while the LW-400 counterparts which are lighter with a backlit screen are designed for mobile labeling in several conditions. The LW-700 on the other hand is flexible and easy to use especially for busy environments outside or in the office. All models are compatible with a wide range of Epson label tapes and offer choices of different font types, character sizes as well as symbols, borders and styles. The LW-400 also provides barcode printing.

EPSON L-800: EFFICIENCY + LESS HUSTLE

The Epson L800 is the world’s first branded photo printer with an integrated ink tank system that gives you high volume prints at the lowest running cost. It is therefore the perfect definition of efficiency.

The ultra-high capacity inkjet printers are designed to offer reliable, cost effective colour printing and can be refilled without the mess or hassle of other ink tank systems.

You can print vibrant, life-like colours with long-lasting results with the L800 and produce borderless photos up to A4 size. Creating personalized digital photo albums can easily be achieved by printing directly onto CDs/DVDs and, with fast print speeds, you can produce a 10 x 15cm photo in as little as 12 seconds.

Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082 Duos Review

The galaxy grand has that huge screen anyone would die for, but it doesn’t add-up when it comes to screen resolution in comparison with its premium siblings such as the Galaxy S4 and close rivals like the LG Optimus G Pro. Unlike the S4 which has an impressive 441 pixels per inch and the Optimus G Pro’s 401 pixels per inch, Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082’s 480×800 pixels distribution only accounts for a measly 187ppi on its enormous 5.0inch panel. Physically, it’s a product of specific combinations from Samsung’s Galaxy S premium portfolio; the screen size is exactly similar to that of S4 while the chassis is no different to S3. The hardware closely resembles that of S2, but it has one thing you’d hardly get on the premium siblings – support for two sim cards.

It’s a case of mix and match which’s typical to Samsung’s sideshow products intended to please every nerd looking for a smart phone that has it all – well not totally all. There are two variants of the galaxy grand – grand duos has two sim card slots while the other grand has a single slot but identical in all other aspects. The Grand Duos comes in handy if you are that kind of person who travels often to other countries or just want to keep both your work and personal phone lines tidily discrete. It allows for two sim cards from different providers to stay active on the same handset – meaning you’ll hardly miss promos and offers from your preferred two operators. Its 5inch panel seems impressive at a glance – the kind of size you’d wish to have but then it’s also the weakest point of this handset. It may have the looks of S4 and styling of S3, but 187ppi screen resolution respectively places it within mid-range devices which’s far below even the first galaxy S.

Elsewhere, Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082 Duos doesn’t compromise on areas that count, underneath is a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM, it’s not as impressive as that of its premium siblings but costs lesser giving it a heads-up for a slot on the shortlist. As usual, the 5inch screen takes a huge chunk of the front panel except for Samsung’s logo at the top with a 2 megapixels front facer for video charts beside it and a physical button at the bottom. On the back cover is an 8.0 megapixels camera and an LED flash capable of recording full HD video clips. Unlike the S4 which comes in 16GB, 32GB or 64GB variations, there’s no variation on the internal storage as all devices have 8GB onboard memory which can be beefed-up with a MicroSD card of up to 64GB.

Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082 Duos Price in Kenya: Kshs.40000

Epson Unveils the LX-350 Dot Matrix Printers in Kenya

The Kenyan business community will have an option of choosing the latest Epson’s LX-350 dot matrix printers for their activities after the imaging and innovation leader introduced them in the country. With the intention of beefing-up its presence in the country and effectively tackling increased competition, Epson launched its lx-350 dot matrix printers in the country which are expected to retail around Kshs14000. The printers are suitable for commercial, industrial and logistics applications and are relatively cheaper in comparison making them ideal to consumers in demand of affordable products without compromising on quality.

Mukesh Bector – Epson’s regional sales manager, said the company was introducing products which are not only reliable but tailored to meet the daily needs in an attempt to enhance customer experience. He also added that in line with Epson’s growth ambitions, it was necessary to launch the new printers in the Kenyan market which has a huge potential for growth. “Consumers especially in the emerging markets like Sub-Saharan Africa have constantly expressed the need for saving money while going about their printing businesses, and at the same time increasing their productivity. The LX-350 ensures that these specific needs are met,” Mukesh added.

The LX-350 printers are energy efficient making them very economical than rivals, with power consumption of just over 1 watt in sleep mode and between 24-27 watt when powered.

Samsung P3200 Galaxy Tab 3 7inch Review

The latest 7inch tablet from Samsung may not hold a substantial advantage over its predecessor in terms of hardware, but it has some pleasant improvements on areas that count. The 7inches Galaxy P3200 tab 3 has its own flows compared to the segment’s favorite iPad, but it prides of having the latest version of Android underneath plus a pocket friendly price tag. The number of android tablets flooding electronic shelves is impressive – it’s a cut-throat kind of competition where several factors beyond just the pricing and hardware come into play. However, Samsung P3200 galaxy tab3 has its own strong-holds; most tablets tend to be around the 10inches size, so you’d say it’s more portable and would probably slide into a standard pocket. Being a 7inch slate, it’s considerably hand-friendly than the iPad and its 10.1inch sibling – the Tab2 (10.1).

Nokia Asha 501 Review

The Asha 501 resides within Nokia’s basement portfolio but it hardly disappoints on areas that count considering its offer price. The phone is no match for the likes of Galaxy S4 and the Optimus G Pro; it doesn’t even run on Nokia’s preferred high-end Windows Operating system – instead, it comes with the Asha platform 1.0 software installed. It has everything you’d expect on a device within its price range except for the lack of a 3G radio which’s its major drawback. Nokia Asha 501 is expected to retail in Kenya from Kshs 8,500, it’s the same kind of money you’d spend on budget android smart phone like Techno N3 though with superior specs; it makes little sense opting for the Asha 501 in this comparison but Nokia die-hards would still give it a chance considering the phone maker’s hardware reputation and a pocket-friendly tag.
