LG Optimus 4X HD P880 Review

LG Optimus 4X HD P880 rated fairly on our benchmarks with some serious specs that range from a high resolution display screen to a snappier Quad-core processor and a more recent version of Android operating system. It’s clearly set to become the best handset in its category, however, with such top-class hardware and a more recent OS, a pricy tag is inevitable. It’s very unlikely to find consumers who still treasure phone apps such as games and the likes at the expense of hardware and operating system versions; tastes have evolved to only include screen sizes, processor clock speed and the type of operating system. LG Optimus 4X HD P880 may not be the best device we’ve seen so far, but, it has enough guts to shutdown most of its peers, its shipped with the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich right from the box, eliminating un-guaranteed schedules of an upgrade. It’s therefore very considerate for LG to launch with (ICS) onboard.

The front panel is considerably occupied by a 4.7inch screen just a few points below the markets favorite Samsung Galaxy Note(5.3inches), LG is following suit in stretching its device’s screen sizes by a few points to almost a tablet’s arena. There are several benefits attached to a bigger screen size as there are cons associated with same big screens, pixel density on such screens is hugely affected and text as well as images may not be as sharp as smaller screen sizes; however, LG Optimus 4X HD P880 offers an excellent resolution of 1280×720 pixels. There are no physical buttons on the front panel, so you’ll rely entirely on capacitive ones to move around the different home screens. Around the back is an 8.0Megapixel main snapper, which’s at par with most devices in this category though falls short of Nokia 808 PureView’s41Megapixel sensor. There’s also a front facing 1.3Megapixel camera essentially for video calling on services like skype. LG Optimus 4X HD P880 will most probably appeal to gadget fanatics with serious tastes in heavy multimedia apps and games considering the hardware underneath.
Behind the scenes is a snappier Nvidia’s latest Quad-core processor, there are countable handsets running on a similar chip at this point in time and we expect no lags even on demanding apps such as 3D games. The phone comes with the latest version of Android OS (ICS) and we expect an immediate upgrade once the rumored Jelly Bean becomes official. You can expand the 16GB internal storage available on LG Optimus 4X HD P880 using a MicroSD card of up to 32GB. At 312ppi pixels density, pictures and text look sharp and minimal scrolling is needed while browsing web pages. Although it’s considerably wider to accommodate a 4.7inch screen, Optimus 4X P880 is 8.9mm thick.
