Step 1: Access the USSD Menu

To initiate the process of opting out of Safaricom’s Postpaid service, grab your Safaricom line and dial *200#. This USSD code serves as the gateway to various service options that allow you to manage your subscription.

Step 2: Navigate to Postpay Termination

Upon dialing *200#, a menu with multiple options will appear on your screen. Your next move is to identify Option 14, which is typically labeled as “Postpay Termination.” This option is designed specifically for users who are considering transitioning away from the Postpaid service.

Step 3: Accept the Transition

After selecting Option 14, the system will prompt you with a notification. This message will inform you that by proceeding, you are agreeing to move from Postpaid to an alternative service. Within a span of up to 48 hours, Safaricom will send you confirmation messages to your line. These messages will indicate the successful termination of your Postpaid service and your successful transition to the chosen alternative. These messages will serve as official documentation of your change in subscription status.

Step 6: Deposit Reimbursement

If you had made any deposits or payments in advance for your Postpaid service, rest assured that Safaricom will reimburse you accordingly. You can expect to receive your deposit within the same 48-hour timeframe as the confirmation messages.
