Airtel’s ‘Tuma Data’ Service Lets Subscribers Share Internet Bundles

Ever since Safaricom unveiled Sambaza Internet – a service that allows subscribers to transfer part of their data bundles to other phone numbers, it didn’t come as a surprise to see Airtel Kenya follow suite with a similar service dubbed ‘Tuma Data’. Tuma Data essentially allows subscribers on Airtel’s network to transfer data bundles from their devices to friends and family members within the same network. With enough bundles, subscribers can choose to download files, surf the internet as well as check their emails. Tuma Data charges are billed on the person sharing bundles allowing those without enough credit to access internet courtesy of their friends.
