Safaricom rolls-out ‘Niokolee’ a brand-new airtime request feature

This service allows you to politely ask your friends and family for a top-up of airtime, ensuring you stay connected seamlessly.

Both Safaricom PrePay and PostPay Subscribers are eligible for this convenient service. However, customers who are currently roaming won’t be able to access it.

With this innovative offering, individuals can easily request their close acquaintances to send them Safaricom airtime ranging from Ksh 10 up to Ksh 100.

To initiate a Niokolee request, follow these simple steps:

  1. Dial *444# using your Safaricom line.
  2. Select the “Niokolee” option and then choose “Request Kredo.”
  3. Enter the Safaricom number from which you’d like to request credit.
  4. Select the desired predefined airtime amount and submit your request.
  5. Await the response from the Safaricom number user, who can either accept or decline your request.

Now, how can you accept a Niokolee request?

Once you’ve made a request, keep an eye out for a notification from 44444. It will prompt you to either “Accept” or “Decline” the request.

Upon accepting the request, the specified amount will be transferred from you to the person making the request. Rest assured, both parties will receive notifications confirming the transaction.

Additionally, Safaricom’s Niokolee Menu offers a “Share Kredo” option, akin to a generous gift. This feature allows you to share credit from one Safaricom number to another, without the need for a specific request.

Unlike other services, Share Kredo doesn’t require the receiver to prompt the sender. It’s a voluntary act of kindness.

However, it’s worth noting that this service provides special predefined airtime bundles, which are valid for a fixed duration.

This distinguishes it from Sambaza, where the sender can choose any desired amount. Moreover, Sambaza airtime doesn’t come with an expiry period.

In addition to these exciting features, the traditional Please Call Me and the popular Reverse Call services are also conveniently accessible through the Niokolee Menu.

Safaricom’s tireless efforts to provide a range of options for their customers clearly demonstrate their commitment to keeping everyone connected on their reliable network.
