Hull City coaches to announce shortlist joining training camp ahead of ‘ALL Stars vs Hull City match’

Away from everything tech, we thought we’d give our readers some insights of current tidbits happening in our local sporting arena. Of course if sports arent your thing, feel free to navigate to something else; otherwise some new interesting developments fro the hull city duos. The Hull City coaching duo of Richard Naylor and Kris Blakeston that has been conducting scouting and selection of SportPesa Premier League players will in the next two weeks announce their list of the top 50 players to attend a training camp by elite coaches in January 2017.

The list will comprise players that have impressed the coaches most during training, at league games and during the national team friendlies against Mozambique and Liberia.

Hosted by SportPesa, the coaches have in the past 10 days traversed the country training with and watching players and it is expected that a blend of youthful and experienced players will make the shortlist.

“We have been extremely impressed by the level of skill, talent and work rate displayed by Kenyan footballers during the trainings and matches we have attended. We look forward to working with the players we shall select for the camp”, said Richard Naylor, Head Professional Development Coach.

From the January 2017 training camp, a squad of 16 players dubbed “SportPesa All Stars” will be selected to face a Hull City side in the United Kingdom and in a return leg on Kenyan soil.

On his part, SportPesa Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Karauri reiterated the company’s commitment to develop Kenya’s football to global standards as part of its objective of having Kenya compete in the World Cup for the first time in 2022.

“We are gearing towards the first ever football match between a Premier League team and an African side to be played in February 2017 and we hope the players selected will do their best in camp and eventually during the matches” said Karauri.

The coaches head to Bandari FC this week for a training session before attending the SportPesa Premiere League grand finale between Gor Mahia and Tusker at the Nyayo Stadium.
