Nokia Lumia 1020Nokia Lumia 1020 is now officially available in the local market at a KES 79,999 price tag, the smartphone prides of top class imaging features which sets it above close rivals. By utilizing Nokia’s innovative PureView imaging technology and an impressive second generation 41 megapixels sensor, Lumia 1020 is capable of producing some of the sharpest image qualities ever produced by any digital camera. The smartphone allows users to capture, edit as well as share top quality photos and videos thanks to ZEISS optics which brings onboard six lenses and image stabilizing technology.

The smartphone has Nokia Pro Camera onboard – a new application that allows users to shoot first and then zoom later to discover and rediscover stories that contain more detail than the eye can see. The app has a decent interface that visually demonstrates how settings will affect the final photo or video, Nokia Pro Camera simplifies features usually reserved for professional cameras and teaches people how to take better photos. The Nokia Lumia 1020 is the most versatile digital camera available. Its unique dual capture feature simultaneously takes a high resolution 38 megapixel image for endless editing opportunities, and creates a 5 megapixel picture that is easy to share to social networks with Windows Phone 8. Delivering crystal clear pictures even in low light conditions, the Nokia Lumia 1020 also captures blur-free videos with stereo sound even at the loudest concerts thanks to Nokia Rich Recording, which handles sound pressure levels six times louder than conventional smartphone microphones.

“Kenyan consumers have embraced the Nokia Lumia range of smartphones,” says Bruce Howe, General Manager of Nokia East Africa. “Since we launched the first Lumia’s based on Windows Phone 8 earlier this year, the combination of beautiful design and differentiated software experiences has resonated with our consumers. Tonight, we take that passion for technology innovation one step further by welcoming the Nokia Lumia 1020 to the local market, a giant leap forward in mobile imaging”. The success of Lumia in the local market can also be attributed to the support it has enjoyed from local operators.
