Solar Powered Samsung NC215S Netbook Unveiled in Kenya

A South Korean electronics giant Samsung has selected Kenyan market to be among the pioneers to showcase its latest breakthrough in the computing world; apparently, Samsung NC215S netbook is the world’s first solar powered laptop and has made a debut in various African markets Kenya included. Mixed sentiments have so far emerged regarding Samsungs innovative NC215S netbook; it has a longer 14.5 hours battery standby time compared to standard laptop’s 7 to 8 hours standby capability. According to Mr. Robert Ngeru, Samsung’s Electronics East Africa Business, the new Samsung NC215S solar powered laptop has been introduced in Kenya and other African markets as part of Samsung’s built for Africa campaign, he also confirmed the availability of Samsung NC215S in Nairobi.

Samsung NC215S solar powered laptop utilizes the manufacturer’s innovative technology composing of a front lid panel that captures sunlight and converts it into electric energy that automatically recharges the laptop battery without any additional costs; it features an intelligent solar panel located on the cover of the netbook making it the first ever 10.1 inch solar powered laptop in the industry. Samsung NC215S solar powered netbook is a product of Samsung’s diverse forward thinking technologies and is said to full fill the requirements of global market consumers by integrating environmentally friendly green IT technology. In comparison with standard netbooks, Samsung NC215S netbook’s battery life can be increased up to 1 hour by just 2 hours of bright mid day charging; a fully charged battery can last up to 14 hours of usage with possibility of up to 1000 charging times over 3 years. Samsung NC215S has been introduced just a few months after it was showcased in Nairobi Kenya during the Samsung Africa Forum event.
Samsung NC215S solar powered netbook is typically like any other Samsung netbook except it’s equipped with solar technology; since the laptop utilizes solar power technology, the only color available is black; and that’s the only natural color anyone could think of for solar technology.
